I havent been to Wynkoop for several years. Its been a really long time considering I would be there at least once a month. They have a fairly interesting red.
I’ll point out that a lot of reds taste like a lot of reds. Sometimes they have more or less alcohol but often, its like someone took a pale ale, took out the hops and poured in some malt.
This one is a bit different. It has a bit more pop or zing. Instead of being red and malty the whole way, there is a tickle on the tongue that sets it apart and makes the drink more interesting. Its a bit hard to describe, not peppery or any of the typical descriptors. I’ll describe it as if someone threw in some sweet tarts into the vat. This one is pretty drinkable.
