Today we try our first roggenbier. What is a roggenbier you ask? Well
It Is something that resembles a wheat beer but made with rye. So the texture is quite different in that its syrupy and twisty on the tongue (quite unlike wheat beer) but then has some of the flavors from wheat vanilla and banana.
The color is still a bit cloudy in this one but darker than a typical wheat.
Ill finish by saying it is indeed not a wheat beer because all I’ve talked about is indeed wheat, but indeed its much more adventurous. Having said that and enjoyed the beverage, I don’t think I would buy it because of the syrupyness.
